The story behind the name, and the logo
People sometimes ask where “Paws & Presence” came from, and whether the two halves mean anything beyond sounding nice together. They do.
Paws
Paws is for the animals who share our lives - and it’s also a small play on pause, a reminder to stop and actually notice what they bring to it. Not the idea of a pet in the abstract. The particular, ridiculous, irreplaceable animal asleep on your feet right now.
Presence
Presence is the whole job, really, stripped down to one word. To show up. To stay close. To be with someone through what feels too heavy to carry on their own. I can’t take the loss away from a family, and I wouldn’t try to. What I can do is make sure they’re not doing it by themselves.
The logo
The mark tells the same story, if you look at how it’s built. A tree stands for life, roots, and all the seasons a loving bond moves through - the good years and the hard ones both. Its branches gather inward to hold a heart at the centre, because the love and connection are always the point of all of it. And then the branches and leaves settle into the shape of a paw - the everlasting mark our animals press into our lives, and leave on our hearts long after they’ve gone.
A tree, a heart, a paw. That’s the whole story, and it’s the same one I try to tell in every conversation I have.
Curious what walking alongside you might actually look like? A free 15-20 minute conversation is a good place to start.
